Women empowerment will come through education, health, employment, self –sufficiency, social awareness, political participation & leadership. Hence, St.Ann’s college concentrated on these areas and working for the achievement of women empowerment.

            Regarding literacy & education, Digital literacy workshops are being conducted to the members of self-help groups by the students of St.Ann’s college. For this purpose, the NSS POs & volunteers are specially trained in Digital literacy classes by union government.

            85% of women are suffering from anemia. As a result, their immunity is very less. In addition to this, there are many Reproductive health issues for women. Health occupies a key role in empowering a person. So, the staff & students of St.Ann’s college is giving top priority to WOMEN HEALTH AWARENESS CAMPS. Free blood group tests, free medical camps & health awareness talks are regularly being conducted by the college.

            In providing employment to the local women, vocational courses are conducted in the college after college timings. Local women are trained in fashion technology & beautician course. The students of St.Ann’s college are arranging exhibition cum sale stalls for the goods prepared by the members of self-help groups & marketing the products. Special classes are conducted for the members of self-help groups on packing & marketing skills.in that way some local women are in a position to stand on their own legs by achieving self-sufficiency in financial matters.

            Through NSS, many seminars, workshops & trainings are conducted to the local women on different social issues like domestic violence, dowry, child marriages, illiteracy & women trafficking. These trainings are increasing the social awareness of the local women. The women are ready to achieve anything through education, and organized effort with the inspiration of sisters, lady teachers & students.

            Ultimately, every woman is realized that political power is the main instrument in changing the lives of the women.as there is 50% reservation in the elections of local self-governments, the women have more opportunities to contest in the local elections.as a result, a drastic change occurred in their lives. The staff & students of St.Ann’s college realized this fact & concentrated on leadership training.

            Thus, the management, staff & students are mainly concentrated on WOMEN EMPOWERMENT. We can call this strategy as “WOMEN FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT”
